Canned Food Drive

Jay Weaver Food Pantry

The 17th Annual Food Drive to benefit the Jay Weaver Food Pantry will take place November 9 and 10. The food pantry helps those in need right here in our community. We are asking that each child donate at least one canned item as we discuss the value of sharing. Listed below are the items of greatest need but any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Canned Fruit/Vegetables/Soups/Meats, Peanut Butter, Pasta and Sauces, Rice

Thanksgiving at Heritage………The Tradition Continues

Join The Heritage Church Family as they continue a 23 year tradition!

Thanksgiving morning will begin as Heritage Church Family and friends gather for a Pancake Breakfast from 8-9:30 am and conclude the morning with a Service of Thanksgiving at 9:45 am.

Reservations for breakfast preferred.

Pumpkin Patch

As previously mentioned in the newsletter, the students will be visiting the Pumpkin Patch at Heritage Church. All classes will visit and attend storytime on Thursday October 29. If you would like your child to purchase a “small” pumpkin for .50, please send funds in an envelope with your child’s name and number of pumpkins desired.

Publix Preschool Pals

Publix Preschool Pals is an exciting, and free, program for children ages two, three and four and parents alike living in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama or Tennessee. It’s educational, but it’s also entertaining.
Here’s what you get: information to help your children realize their full potential, access to an information-rich Web site, a quarterly newsletter, prizes, cards on their birthdays, a very cool activity book for two-year-olds, and a one-of-a-kind CD ROM when your children turn three. Please note, the Publix Preschool Pals program is offered in English only.

Cold/Flu Information

Please help keep the cold and flu out of our school by reinforcing the lessons we are teaching:

*Cough/ Sneeze into folded arm

*Wash hands often using the ABC song as a timer (especially after sneezing or coughing)

*Stay home if you are sick and for at least 24 hours after a fever is gone

 

At school we are:

*Using hand sanitizer as the children come into their class, before snack and after any  

cough or sneeze

*Washing hands often, using the ABC song as a timer

*Teaching the children to cough/ sneeze into their folded arm

*Wiping  down tables and chairs w/anti-bacterial wipes

*Spraying surfaces w/Lysol at the end of the day

*Sending sick children home

* Staying home if we are sick!

Box Tops 4 Education

 Save those Box Tops!!!

 

 

Every few months, we will hold a contest to see which student can send in

the most Box Tops.

Just clip those box tops and send them to school

in a Ziploc bag labeled with the student’s name.

The winner will be awarded a $15 Gift Certificate good

towards Scholastic Books! An announcement will be made in the

next month’s newsletter. The first contest ends September 28 th so

send in those Box Tops!!!!
